RAPPERS STILL NEED RECORD LABELS!

Record labels will always need rappers; but the past couple of years we have seen a movement of rappers that want to steer clear and try to be independent/unsigned. The fans have made this push as well without really understanding all the struggles that independent rappers have to go through and only seeing how much the profit margins and creative freedom look like.

The truth is rappers still need record labels; that is if they plan on going mainstream and want to see how popular they can become. If they are satisfied with having a core fan base and just touring then they may not need to sign. But if they want their songs in movies, to be on late night shows, do huge interviews, work with huge artists, and be on radio & billboard charts they are going to need to sign. Record labels still have connections and relationships with people in all of these businesses and to get your foot in that door as an independent act is almost impossible.
